Chasing the feel of watching This Film Is Not Yet Rated ? Here are the movies we recommend you watch right after.

This movie seeks to expose the secret cabal at the heart of the MPAA rating system. Numerous filmmakers are interviewed about their frustrating struggles to come in under the "R" wire, and the seemingly arbitrary and sexually repressed nature of the decision making process. At the same time the filmmaker is actively working to identify the actual people on the board in charge of enforcing the various nefarious tactics. Although the subject matter is dark and very important, the movie's style is light and humorous. Note: included are scenes cut from the movies in question, stuff that was deemed too sexually graphic for an "R" rating.

Adventureland is a retro-tinged movie about teens in Pittsburgh working at a run down amusement park during the summer of 1987. It is marketed as similar to Superbad, when in fact the only thing they have in common is the Director. Adventureland is funny, but it is more sweet, tender, and intimate. Touching on themes of unrequited love, returning home, and small-town love, the film stars Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Stewart, and the always-delightful-duo of Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig. In addition, the film’s soundtrack is a joyous blast from the past, running the gamut of all your favorite 1980’s synth-happy love songs. It is a movie that anyone can really relate to, no matter when they were born, and an amazing watch.

An old friend shows up on the doorstep of a happy family home and brings a whirlwind of trouble with him. Charles Burnett’s startling parable is tinged with magic and creeping danger. It digs into the tensions between African American folklore of the rural South and the assimilated middle-class lifestyle out West.

This rift takes the form of Harry, whose disquieting presence throws his old friend Gideon’s Los Angeles home into disarray. Danny Glover is captivating as the devilish visitor, delivering each line with playful ease and simmering menace. Burnett’s sly narrative doesn’t boil down to good and evil but instead offers a layered and enigmatic exploration of identity.
